IEC 61000-4-11:2004 Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) - Part 4-11: Testing and measurement techniques - Voltage dips, short interruptions and voltage variations

EN IEC 61000-4-11 sets the immunity test methods and range for equipment connected to low-voltage power supply networks for voltage dips, short interruptions, and voltage variations. It covers equipment not above 16A/phase for connection to 50 or 60 Hz A.C. EN IEC 61000-4-11 falls into the greater structure of EN IEC 61000 which covers broader EMC concepts. Voltage dips and short interruptions are caused by faults in the network, primarily short circuits, in installations or by sudden large changes of load. In certain cases, two or more consecutive dips or interruptions may occur. Voltage variations are caused by continuously varying loads connected to the network against a certain benchmark. EN IEC 61000-4-11 standard categorizes three levels of testing and can be verified by Dips and Interrupts EMC Test Equipment. The three different classes are defined further in the standard allowing testing to be conducted accordingly. This standard does not define testing with pass/fail criteria but on performance criterion, similar to that of other IEC standards. This standard does not cover equipment for connection to 400 Hz A.C. EN IEC 61000-4-11 places regulation on the environment, limits, testing and measurement techniques, installation and mitigation guidelines, and many other criteria.

Voltage Dips Level 61000-4-11

EN IEC 61000-4-11 sets the requirements for EMC test equipment to test for voltage dips, short interruptions, and voltage variations. It specifies preventing the emissions of heavy disturbances on power supply and providing voltage dip equal or more severe then required by the standard. We offer rental products by Teseq, EMC Partner, EM Test, and Thermo-Keytek. We also provide a variety of rental accessories for our equipment allowing customers to meet a variety of requirements. The most commonly rented equipment to simulator this event are the Profline, NSG 3060, UCS500n7, TRA3000, and EMC Pro. These EMI dips and interrupts products come with an A2LA accredited calibration and free technical support included with the rental. The EM Test UCS500N7 is an EMC Immunity Test equipment is an all in one box for testing EFT to 5.5kV, Surge to 7kV and 100kHz Ringwave to 6 kV, with built-in single phase coupler and software. This test equipment provides optional Dips and Interrupts testing with the V4780 S2 external variac. The UCS500N7 includes a built-in CDN for single phase it can be extended for testing three-phse DUT's by means of automatically controlled external coupling network up to 100A.

This Immunity Test Generator can be operated via the front panel or by remote via the built-in USB or GPIB interface. Fail inputs allow control an ongoing test sequences based on the status of the DUT. Monitoring outputs (BNC) are offered for easy signal measurement and verification. This EMI test equipment provides a fully compliant that goes to levels beyond common testing requirements.

The UCS500n7 includes many reprogrammed test routines ideal for testing to EN/IEC 61000-4-4, EN/IEC 61000-4-5, EN/IEC 61000-4-11, EN/IEC 61000-4-12, CEMark, ANSI/IEEE C62.41 cat. B, EN IEC 61000-6-1, and EN IEC 61000-6-2. This product also includes both pre-programmed standard tests and a quick start menu allowing for parameters to be changed on-line during the test to evaluate the susceptibility level of an individual DUT.
