Overview

The Haefely Hipotronics Axos8 conducted immunity test generator allow for 6kV surge/combination wave testing, 5kV EFT/Burst, and a 7kV Ringwave (optional Dips and Interrupts are availible) and a built-in single phase coupler. This test systems is the higher voltage version of the Axos 5, including a Ringwave Function. Both Axos units have front panel monitoring ports with built in attenuation allowing for quick ability to verify waveform. Take advantage of pro-rated daily rates after the first month and quick delivery!

This Immunity Test Generator expandable functionality allows for quick and completely automated testing to the most common IEC, EN, ANSI, IEEE and UL standards. This test equipment is user friendly with manual and automated test mode and software assisted test preparation. It provides a touch screen for  efficient and effective manipulation of testing criteria to meet or a diverse set of testing needs.

This pulse generator allows for testing to EN/IEC 61000-4-4, EN/IEC 61000-4-5, EN/IEC 61000-4-12 and optional external box for testing per EN/IEC 61000-4-11 and EN IEC 61000-4-29. The Axos unit can either be operated via front panel by large colour graphic interface or remotely from the PC. This product has the ability to change testing parameters while conducting tests and is useful for monitoring and debugging function during design phase as well as compliance and pre-compliance testing.

Overview

The Haefely Axos 5 EMI (conducted immunity) test generator for 5kV Surge and EFT with a built-in single phase coupling/decoupling network. A2LA accredited calibration is included in the EMC rental equipment price. This compact Haefely product provides safe and reliable operation by using safety interlock, warning lamp and emergency stop functions helping to ensure safe use. A major advantage of this Immunity Test Generator is the ability to monitor voltage and current through front of the test system. The Axos 5 expandable functionality allows for quick and completely automated testing to EN/IEC 61000-4-4, EN/IEC 61000-4-5 and EN/IEC 61000-4-11 and CE Marking. The unit also includes an integrated single-phase coupling decoupling network (CDN) for EMC testing applications up to 16A. EN/IEC 61000-4-5 - 2014 relates to immunity requirements for unidirectional surges caused by over-voltages from switching and lightning transients. This standard defines ranges of test levels, test equipment, test setups, and test procedures for equipment under test (EUT). The goal of this International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standard is a reproducible guide to evaluate equipment when exposed to this type of phenomena. It specifies that direct injections of lightning currents (direct lightning strikes) are not considered in this standard. The most recent 2014 version 3 cancels out previous publications and gives specifications for 10/700 µs combined wave generator. The most changes from version 2 fall underneath the test procedures section of the standard. This Standard can be purchased on the IEC Webstore.
EN IEC 61000-4-5 Peak to Peak and Voltage Test Levels
This IEC standard is based on a surge, a transient wave of electrical current, and is tested for by Immunity Test Equipment. This standard defines two Combination Wave pulses (Open Circuit Voltage and Short Circuit Current). It set the number of pulses from the EMC test equipment to a.c. ports, d.c. ports, and interconnection lines, at 5 positive and 5 negative (a.c. at 0°, 90°, 180°, & 270°).
