Configurations
Configurations EM Test NX5 Series
There are a variety of different configurations of the NX 5 series of test equipment. These vary depending upon the waveform generator/testing capabilities and capabilities of built-in coupler. Testing capabilities include Burst/EFT (electrical fast transients), Surge (combination wave), Power Fall, and Telecom Surge in with both 16 amp and 32 amp CDNs.
Additional Overview

This newest product in the EM Test conducted transient product line, which includes the UCS 500N5 system, provides a 5kV conducted immunity platform where customization and modules are easily added. Given the standard 5kV transient configuration on the platform, common capabilities include EFT/Burst (IEC 61000-4-4) and Combination Wave Surge (IEC 61000-4-5). Other configurations also exist including magnetic field options, telecom, and many others to meet testing requirements. Our rental inventory offers both surge and EFT/Burst capabilities built-in as well as some 32 Amp (standard 16Amps) coupling decoupling network (CDN) versions available as well.
Interface & Software:The EM Test software, ISO.control offers an easy to user interface to control testing criteria and routines via computer. This is an ideal solution for longer pr more complex testing, where variables and being charged dramatically between each iteration. It offers a long list of preprogrammed standards and waveforms, streamlining the testing process. We include a laptop with software installed, arriving ready for testing to begin. This system also offers a 7 inch touch screen interface directly on the equipment itself, allowing for adjusting of parameters. When you receive the equipment, the software and associated license will be with the system allow the customer to install on their preferred system.

The built-in standard coupler for this series of generators starts at single phase 300 volts 16 amps for burst/EFT and surge pulses. The type of cable and the voltage/current capabilities can be selected when purchasing. There are also a wide range of external CDNs available, including the EM Test Coupling bsr-3-480-32 which allows for power mains coupling up to 480 volts 32amps for three phase applications. External manual CDNs are available providing additional coupling on a variety of lines upwards of 100 amps. The most common types of coupled pulses include EFT/Burst and surge. An important consideration with coupling surge pulses with automated network is ensuring capability allowing for the equipment to properly place pulses on the sine wave.
