Ring waves or non-repetitive damped oscillatory transients occur in low-voltage power supplied by public and non-public networks. The main standard used for testing for ring wave immunity in electric and electrical equipment is EN IEC 61000-4-12. This standards sets forth specific requirements for waveform, test equipment, setup, and many other considerations when conducting ring wave testing.
