    Buy ESD Simulators

Purchasing an ESD simulator provides EMC laboratories, manufacturers, and engineering teams with a dedicated solution for performing repeatable electrostatic discharge immunity testing. Transient Specialists offers new Teseq and EM Test ESD simulators, including models designed for commercial, industrial, automotive, medical, and other electronic product testing. Available systems include both 16 kV and 30 kV ESD simulators, with configurations suitable for common international and manufacturer-specific requirements.

When selecting an ESD simulator, important considerations include maximum air and contact discharge voltage, available RC discharge networks, automation capabilities, battery operation, and the test standards your laboratory needs to support. Standard IEC 61000-4-2 testing typically uses a 150 pF/330 Ω discharge network, while automotive applications may require additional networks for standards such as ISO 10605.

Transient Specialists stocks ESD simulators as well as replacement discharge tips, batteries, grounding accessories, and other supporting equipment. Our team can help identify the appropriate simulator and accessories for your testing requirements, whether you are adding ESD capabilities to a new laboratory or upgrading an existing EMC test system.

    Related Questions

The required voltage depends on the EMC standard and test level being performed. For IEC 61000-4-2 testing, 16 kV ESD simulators are commonly used, while 30 kV models provide additional capability for automotive, military, and manufacturer-specific requirements. Transient Specialists offers both 16 kV and 30 kV ESD simulators from Teseq and EM Test.

The required resistance/capacitance (R/C) network depends on the applicable test standard. IEC 61000-4-2 testing commonly uses a 150 pF/330 Ω network, which is included or built into many standard ESD simulators. Automotive testing to ISO 10605 may require additional interchangeable R/C networks.

A 16 kV simulator is a good choice for laboratories primarily performing IEC 61000-4-2 testing. A 30 kV ESD simulator provides greater flexibility for laboratories that also need to support automotive, military, or higher-voltage ESD requirements.
