Overview
Ring waves or non-repetitive damped oscillatory transients occur in low-voltage power supplied by public and non-public networks. The main standard used for testing for ring wave immunity in electric and electrical equipment is EN IEC 61000-4-12. This standards sets forth specific requirements for waveform, test equipment, setup, and many other considerations when conducting ring wave testing. The ring wave waveform includes both an open circuit voltage and short circuit current. Below you will find the waveform required by EN IEC 61000-4-12 created by the NSG 3060 ring wave generator.
