IEC 61000-4-10 - Rent Damped Oscillatory Magnetic Field Equipment

Damped oscillatory fields mainly are related to the operation of high voltage bus-bar isolators. IEC 61000-4-10 specifies five different test levels the highest being 100 A/m. The standard requires two different oscillation frequencies:

  • 100 kHz with a repetition rate of at least 40 Hz
  • 1 MHz with a repetition rate of at least 400 Hz

The standard places requirements on the peak current specifications assocaited with the test system/generator at test levels 3, 4, and 5. At level 5 no generator is currently on the market to meet the requirements using a 1 meter x 2.6 meter coil, commonly a 1 meter x 1 meter is used if this level of testing is needed.
