Standard Terms

Transient Specialists, Inc. (TSI)

Standard Terms & Conditions:

  • TSI retains title of all equipment. Customers are precluded from altering, assigning, modifying or encumbering the equipment in any way.
  • Equipment is shipped F.O.B. shipping point and must be returned prepaid and insured to TSI per shipping instructions included with the equipment. Customers are responsible for all taxes and duties related to the lease of the equipment.
  • Payment terms are net 30 with credit approval. Non-payment or late payment of amounts due will result in interest charges of 1% per month and upon demand, return of the equipment.
  • The lease is non-cancelable for its initial term and may not be renewed without permission from TSI. If it is renewed, the customer is responsible for all lease charges accrued whether or not the customer has issued additional purchase orders.
  • In the event that the equipment is non-functional, lease charges are abated from the date that notification is given to TSI, until a replacement unit is furnished to the customer. Notification of a non-functional unit must be given within 72 hours of delivery or the customer will be responsible rental charges accrued between delivery date and the date they notified TSI of a problem.  Notification of missing accessories must be given within 72 hours of delivery or the customer will be responsible for the return of all accessories listed on the packing list.
  • The customer shall bear all risks of loss or damage to the equipment from the time of shipment until TSI receives the equipment in good working order, unless notification is given per sec. 5.
  • The customer agrees that TSI has not made any representation of warranty, expressed or implied (except as stated in the document) on the equipment and the responsibility for equipment selection, suitability and fitness of use for a particular purpose lies solely with the customer.
  • The customer will hold TSI harmless from all claims and expenses resulting from the selection, delivery, use and/or possession of any equipment obtained from or through TSI.
  • In the event of default by the customer of any of the above terms and conditions, TSI shall be entitled to the immediate possession of this equipment.
  • The customer agrees that the terms and conditions listed here shall supersede any conflicting terms in, or attached to, the purchase order.
  • This agreement shall be interpreted according to the laws of the State of Illinois. The customer shall pay to TSI all costs and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, incurred by TSI in exercising any of its rights or remedies with regard to the rental or enforcement of any of these terms and conditions.

    50μH LISNs

    Line Impedance Stabilization Networks (LISNs) with a 50µH inductance are widely used for conducted emissions testing in both commercial and military applications. Although both environments use the same 50 µH inductance value, the corresponding LISNs are generally not interchangeable because they are designed to different standards. Military LISNs are specified by MIL-STD-461, while commercial LISNs are typically designed in accordance with CISPR 16-1-2.

    LISNs compliant with CISPR 16-1-2 are commonly used to support a wide range of commercial product standards and regulatory requirements, including FCC Part 15 Subpart B and various CISPR product-specific standards. These LISNs are available in several configurations, with some models featuring a single integrated socket for the equipment under test (EUT) and others providing separate connections for each power line.

    Conducted emissions measurements are typically performed using a spectrum analyzer or a dedicated EMI receiver connected to the LISN. Some LISNs, such as the Rohde & Schwarz ENV216, incorporate an internal transient limiter to protect the measurement instrument, while others require an external transient limiter for the same purpose. Because LISNs are relatively easy to integrate into a laboratory setup and provide highly repeatable measurement conditions, they are frequently used for pre-compliance testing and troubleshooting prior to formal compliance testing.

    Most Line Impedance Stabilization Networks can be safely shipped via standard small-package carriers. However, larger models designed for high-power, three-phase testing are typically shipped via LTL freight and secured to a pallet to help protect the equipment during transit and ensure it arrives in proper working condition. Due to their size and weight, palletized freight shipping helps minimize the risk of damage.     Not all 50 µH LISNs include calibration adapters as standard accessories. For models designed for more specialized applications or equipped with non-standardized connectors, calibration adapters are generally included to allow customers to perform verification or calibration as needed. The specific accessories supplied with each LISN vary by model.     In most cases, a current ISO/IEC 17025 calibration is included with the rental of a 50 µH LISN at no additional cost. Calibration status is noted on each product page so you can confirm it before placing your order. If you have any questions about calibration or rental equipment, please contact our team.

    We do not include a transient limiter with every 50 µH LISN, as some models have this functionality built directly into the LISN. For models without integrated transient protection, we recommend using an external transient limiter to help protect the EMI receiver or spectrum analyzer during conducted emissions measurements. Product pages indicate whether transient protection is built in or if a separate transient limiter is recommended.
