MIL-STD-461G CS115 applies to interconnecting cables (including power) and requires a unique 2ns rise/fall time with 35ns duration pulse, injected through CIP. We offer rentals of both the transient generator, commonly the Solar Electronics 9355, as well as theCS115/CS116 accessory kitwhich provides commonly required accessories.
When conducting the test, a LISN is required directly after the power input. These can be either 5uH LISNs or 50uH LISNs depending upon application, however 50uH is the traditional line impedance stabilization network used for MIL-STD-461 tests.
MIL-STD-461 CS115applies to all aircraft, space, and ground system interconnecting cables, including power cables. This section of MIL-STD-461 can be applied as well to surface ship and submarine subsystems and equipment. The purpose is to test an electronic or electrical system to withstand signals coupled onto EUT associated cabling. The EUT will be subjected to rise and fall times, pulse width, and amplitude as specified on Figure 1 at a 30 Hz rate for one minute. The needed equipment for testing to this standard includes a pulse generator, current injection probe, drive cable, current probe, calibration fixture, oscilloscope, attenuators, coaxial loads, and LISNs. The CS 115 standard defines the result of testing by "The EUT shall not exhibit any malfunction, degradation of performance, or deviation from specified indications, beyond the tolerances indicated in the individual equipment or subsystems specification..".
MIL-STD-461 CS115 test equipment is broken down by the pulse generator and test setup. The generators that we carry for compliant solutions include the EMC Partner MIG 2000-6 and Solar Electronics 9355. Both of these systems provide the required waveforms and offer full test accessories setup. With the large amount of overlap between 115 and CS116, the test setups can be used interchangeably for either. The pulse generators and associated test accessories can be either rented individually for this standard or for multiple standards allowing for a more cost efficient test solution.
Solar Electronics Equipment/Setup
We offer this package of Solar Electronics equipment as a complete solution to the requirements of this standard. It provides the all the needed equipment including bulk current injection clamps, current injection probes, calibration fixture, and attenuators. Below you will find a list of equipment included in the complete solution.
This video provides an overview on a variety of testing requirements and techniques associated with this standard. It provides valuable insight in a lecture based format provided by Washing Laboratories LTD. The video does an excellent job on answering questions and providing additional information outside of the usual discussion.
