Overview
IEC 61000-4-16 puts forth immunity requirements and testing criteria for conducted common mode disturbances from 15 Hz to 150 kHz d.c. We offer common mode disturbances Immunity rentals from EMC Partner for a complete solution. We use the TRA3000 platform to facilitate this and the test equipment can be rented as complete solution, short and long waveforms, or individually for long waveform testing. This EMC immunity standard defines test voltage and current waveform, range of test levels, test equipment, test setup, and test procedures. Two main ways that this occurs is through power line currents and return leakage currents. IEC 61000-4-16 can be purchased through the IEC Webstore. This standard does not cover disturbances produced by 400hz mains systems or for equipment ports intended to be connected to short cables (20m or less).
Testing
IEC 61000-4-16 sets test levels in two categories, continuous or long (10Vrms-30Vrms) and short duration (10Vrms-300Vrms). Testing to these criteria is determined by the product standard. The voltage in common mode testing will be applied to power supply, control, signal and communications ports. Our common mode disturbances immunity rentals provide offer solutions to both and include all accessories and components required included in the rental cost. Disturbances are classified as voltage/current power frequency d.c. 16 2/3 Hz, 50 Hz, and 60 Hz as well as in the frequency range of 15 Hz to 150 kHz. Test voltage is applied d.c. and mains frequency of 16 2/3 Hz, 50 Hz and 60 Hz.
Equipment
For testing to IEC 61000-4-16 we offer common mode disturbances immunity rentals from EMC Partner. This common mode immunity standard places specific requirements upon the test generators that can be used. The TRA3000 by EMC Partner in combination with the EXT-IMU C-Short, PS3 Power supply and other accessories come for one flat price and provide a complete solution. This complete solution includes, the short test, continuous test, and frequency sweep requirements. We also provide the option to our rental customers to rent only the long or continuous testing capabilities. Both of these solutions for IEC 61000-4-16 come in a single box solution and provide a turnkey solution.
