UL 1449 is designed for testing of surge protective devices (SPDs) to ensure the ability to protect electrically connected devices. This standard includes a wide variety of requirements for production of surge protection devices including enclosure, insulation materials, and many others. The EMC Immunity testing for surge is determined by the SPD devices type rating. UL 1449 test program places requirements on the environment of the test, test equipment, and a variety of testing methods.
For testing to UL 1449 we offer a variety of surge generators from a diverse set of suppliers including Haefely, Teseq, and Thermo-Keytek. All of the surge generators meet the requirements of UL 1449 and each provides unique testing and reporting methods. We provide flexible rentals terms, as short as a week, to allow customers to adjust rental terms as needed. The all of our surge generators come with an A2LA accredited calibration and free technical support included with the rental. We also carry the NSG 3150 a 15kV surge generator system allowing for testing to be completed beyond requirements of UL 1449.
