Description

The CFT-10u Feed-Thru Capacitors are ruggedly constructed are highly reliable units for general use in shielded enclosures and other environments. The capacitors have four threaded mounting holes for easy installation onto a metal enclosure. Power connections are made to their M6x1 threaded feed-thru stud.  They are rated for currents up to 100 Amps without heating or voltage loss.

These capacitors feature low dissipation factors, high temperature ratings, high insulation resistance, double the rated dielectric strength, and long life. For safety purposes, a parallel bleeder resistor is incorporated internally in order to discharge the capacitor when the applied voltage is removed. 

Com-Power’s 10 μF (microfarad) feed-thru capacitor is intended for use during EMI/EMC testing such as RTCA DO-160 as well as MIL-STD-461. The 10 μF feed-thru capacitor provides a low impedance to ground across the power source so that emissions produced by the equipment under test can be measured accurately with a current probe such as Com-Power Model CLCE-438 or CLCE-452.

 The feed-thru capacitor is used for added f iltering and impedance stabilization in conjunction with an LISN (Line Impedance Stabilization Network) such as ComPower’s LI-4xxx or LI-3xxx series. The 10 µF feed-thru capacitor can also be used as a power-line f ilter installed on the wall of a shielded enclosure or equipment cabinet. The capacitor provides adequate insertion loss without suffering the power current saturation limitation of f ilters which employ toroidal inductors.
