Rentals of automotive EMC test equipment for FMC1278 provide the necessary equipment for testing with technical support, at a fraction of the price of purchasing. This standard is the Ford's EMC testing requirements for the EMC of vehicle electronic or electrical systems to assure compliance with present and anticipated future regulation. It replaces EMC-CS-2009 standard for Ford Motor Company requirements and includes components of CISPR 25, ISO 11452-2, ISO 7637 for testing. This automotive standard applies to all 12 and 24 volt DC electronic or electrical systems both components and subsystems. This automotive standard, as well as other Ford standards, can be download via the Ford EMC website. FMC1278 differentiates testing based upon functional importance classification and functional performance status. It requires ESD, load dump, fast transients, and dips testing.
Testing according to this Ford automotive EMC standard places requirements on the sequence of how testing is to be completed. The first testing to be completed is ESD testing. It is encouraged that RF Emissions and RF Immunity be conducted next following that. Should ESD testing (section 25) not be conducted first, will result in non-acceptance of the test results. The electrostatic discharge component of testing requires 150pF/2kΩ for unpowered testing and 330pF/2kΩ powered testing and done in compliance with ISO 10605. The voltage level for testing begins at 4kV and goes as high as 25kV. FMC1278 also includes ISO 7637 pulses 1,2,3 and 5 with modifications. Additional information on these pulses is available sections 18 and 19 of this standard.
To facilitate testing we provide FMC1278 rental equipment and offer products from both Teseq and EM Test. The Teseq NSG 5500 Rental with the PA5840 by Teseq provides testing to many of the automotive waveforms required by this standard and ISO 7637. The NSG 5500 is the control unit and the PA5840 is a programmable battery available in both 25 and 100Amp models. The EM Test solution, the LD200N, VDS200N, and UCS200N allows for testing for an individual sections and waveforms. This is a cost-effective solution for specific waveform testing requirements. Ford EMC testing requirements also have an ESD component which we have both the NSG 437 and ESD3000 as solutions providing required networks and 30kV capabilities. All of our automotive EMC test equipment rentals come with an A2LA accredited calibration and free technical support. Both the Teseq and EM Test immunity generators provide unique software and can be controlled via laptop computer.
