Description

The EM Test NX7 bspr-1-300-16 is a multifunction transient immunity generator designed for demanding commercial and industrial EMC testing. It combines surge, EFT/burst, 100 kHz ring wave, and power-fail capabilities in one compact platform. The system generates combination-wave surges up to 7 kV open circuit and 3.5 kA short circuit, EFT/burst pulses up to 5.5 kV, and 100 kHz ring wave pulses up to 7 kV. Its integrated single-phase coupling decoupling network supports EUT supplies up to 300 V and 16 A AC or DC.

The NX7 supports testing to IEC/EN 61000-4-4 for EFT/burst, IEC/EN 61000-4-5 for surge, and IEC/EN 61000-4-12 for ring wave immunity. Selectable 12 Ω, 30 Ω, and 50 Ω ring wave source impedances also support applicable ANSI/IEEE requirements. Power-fail functions accommodate voltage dips, interruptions, and variations, although additional transformers or voltage sources may be required for certain IEC 61000-4-11 applications.

A color touchscreen, preprogrammed standards routines, Quick Start controls, selectable polarity, phase-angle synchronization, and integrated monitoring help operators configure repeatable tests efficiently. The included iec.control software enables remote operation, custom sequencing, and test reporting. Compatible external coupling networks expand testing to three-phase equipment, while capacitive coupling clamps and specialized networks support signal and data lines.

Renting the EM Test NX7 bspr-1-300-16 is ideal for short-term compliance projects, troubleshooting, or additional laboratory capacity. The rental includes a laptop, operating accessories, documentation, and current ISO/IEC 17025-accredited calibration unless otherwise specified. The system ships by LTL freight on pallets.

Table top EFT setup with capacitive coupling clamp with EM Test NX5 test system

EFT/Burst Table Top Setup

When using the coupling clamp, the minimum distance between the coupling plates and all other conductive surfaces (including the generator), except the ground reference plane beneath the coupling clamp and beneath the EUT, shall be at least 0.5 m.

The test generator and the coupling network should be connected to the reference ground plane (acc. to high frequency requirements).
- The equipment under test must be isolated from the reference ground plane. The distance should be 10 cm.
Being part of the EUT, these requirements are also recommended for all connected cables. The EUT should only be grounded if this is recommended by the installation guideline. For safety reasons, the test without any ground connection should be conducted as well (at 100MHz 1 m ground cable lenght has an impedance of about 600 Ω)
- Whenever possible the test set-up and the cabling should always be the same; e.g. for testing power lines it would be possible to fix the cables on the test table for all tests in the same way.
- Lines under test and all other lines should be decoupled strictly.

FAQs

This NX7 configuration performs combination wave surge, electrical fast transient/burst, 100 kHz ring wave, voltage dips, short interruptions, and voltage variation testing using one compact system. Testing to IEC 61000-4-11 requires additional external equipment for testing for most applications.

The EM Test NX7 will ship LTL freight attached to a pallet. This helps to ensure that the equipment arrives in working condition, helping to limit shipping damage. For any questions or concerns about shipping, contact our team directly at info@ts-emc.com.

Yes. The NX7 produces a 100 kHz ring wave with an open-circuit voltage up to 7 kV. Selectable 12 Ω, 30 Ω, and 50 Ω source impedances support IEC 61000-4-12 and ANSI/IEEE testing.

Yes. The rental includes a laptop with EM Test iec.control software, allowing users to run standard routines, create custom test sequences, remotely control the generator, and prepare detailed test reports.

Yes. Three-phase EUTs require a compatible external three-phase coupling decoupling network. The NX7 can automatically control supported external networks, but the required voltage, current, phase count, and coupling paths should be confirmed before ordering.
