Description

The CDN supports EFT/burst pulses up to 5.5 kV and combination wave surge and 100 kHz ring wave pulses up to 7 kV. It is designed for testing to IEC/EN 61000-4-4, IEC/EN 61000-4-5, and IEC/EN 61000-4-12. Four-wire and five-wire configurations allow the network to accommodate common industrial machinery, motor drives, power converters, renewable-energy inverters, electric-vehicle equipment, and other three-phase EUTs.

When connected to a compatible EM Test Compact NX5 or NX7 generator, the Coupling NX7 is controlled automatically through the system-link interface. The generator selects the requested coupling paths and, during surge testing, configures the required source impedance according to the test standard and coupling mode. This automated operation reduces manual cable changes, improves setup consistency, and helps operators move efficiently between test sequences. The CDN does not generate pulses independently and must be paired with a properly configured transient generator.
