RF power amplifiers typically range of 10kHz up to 18Ghz and offer solutions for a variety of different immunity testing requirements for generating different electric field (E-Field) including commercial (including IEC 61000-4-3), automotive, and military applications.
Typically setup requirements include, power amplifiers, EMI Antennas, signal generator (with required modulation), power meters, dual directional couplers (if not built), and chamber to conduct testing. EMC amplifiers vary in both frequency range as well as wattage and type (continuous wave and pulsed) designed to meet a variety of requirements including MIL-STD-461 and RTCA/DO-160.
In most situations EMC software is used to control and monitor different components within the setup. We offer rentals of individuals components of this setup, such as EMC based amplifiers, as well as combined systems for a more complete solution to meet particular requirements.
Signal generators are necessary for radiated immunity tests, typically providing AM, FM, and pulse modulation capabilities. If EMC software is used it is important that drivers are available for the associated signal generator to allow for communication. The frequency range of the signal generator must correlate to those of the amplifier for full capabilities over the range.
Transient Specialists offers rentals of signal generators, typically with amplifiers, allowing for a more complete test solution for IEC 61000-4-3 as well as other immunity test requirements.
