Power frequency magnetic field tests are conducted at 50 Hz/60 Hz and devices such as monitors, hall sensors, and high-resolution graphic displays are the most susceptible. The test is split between to tests:
- Continuous field test up to 100 A/m
- Short duration field test up to 1000 A/m
The higher A/m short-duration test typically replicates higher filed strengths associated with railway installations or near substations or power plants. This test is commonly done with a 1 meter x 1 meter coil and field generator to provide the necessary levels.
