This generic standard, part of the EN IEC 61000-6 series is based on emissions and applies to residential and light industrial environments, both inside and outside. It covers the frequency range of up to 400 GHz for testing. This standard only applies if no other product or product-related EMC immunity standard applies. The most recent 2016 version provides a redline version, allowing comparing to the previous 2011 version. It applies to apparatus intended to be directly connected to a low-voltage public mains network or connected to a dedicated DC source, which is intended to interface between the apparatus and the low-voltage public mains network. It also applies to battery powered apparatus which is powered by powered by a non-public, but non-industrial, low-voltage power distribution system if powered by correlating environment.
